Projects

Dinodo partners with architects and designers to create bespoke textile works beyond the limits of editioned art.
Dinodo Studio partners with interior designers, architects, and creative teams to develop custom textile pieces that go beyond the boundaries of our limited editions. From small-batch, numbered rugs for boutique hospitality spaces to expansive, site-specific works for residential and commercial projects, each collaboration is a unique expression of place and vision.
While our roots are in artist-led editions, our custom work reflects the same commitment to craftsmanship, material integrity, and design excellence, tailored for those seeking something truly singular. Our in-house design team is available to support and collaborate on custom projects of all scales, ensuring each piece is thoughtfully adapted to its environment. If you are an architect or design studio looking for your next custom textile project, we’d love to hear from you.
Bespoke Service
Art-led craft, shaped to every space and vision.
Every Dinodo custom project begins with a question: what should this space feel and remember? Working alongside architects, interior designers, and hospitality teams, our in-house design studio — Dinodo Lab — develops entirely bespoke textile works that translate spatial briefs into hand-crafted, site-specific pieces.
Each commission draws from our archive of artist collaborations while remaining fully original. Dimensions, colour palette, material weight, pile depth, and finishing are determined in dialogue with the client and adapted to the specific demands of the environment — from intimate residential interiors to high-traffic public areas.
Exclusive trade terms are available for registered architects and designers. All custom pieces are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and full production documentation.
Materials & Techniques
Wool
The foundation of our hospitality range. New Zealand wool offers a naturally warm handle, proven resilience in high-traffic areas, and a timeless aesthetic that ages gracefully over years of use.
Nylon
A high-performance fibre prized for its structural strength and colour retention under sustained use. Blended with wool in many of our contract pieces to extend longevity in demanding environments.
Shiny Nylon
A refined variant that introduces a subtle luster and dimensional sheen. Ideal for statement areas within hotels, lounges, and boutique retail spaces where visual impact is as important as durability.
Viscose
A silk-like fibre with exceptional softness and a luminous, smooth surface. Used selectively to enrich colour depth and tactile appeal in feature areas and luxury suites.
Alpaca
An exceptionally soft natural fibre with a characteristic warmth and subtle natural luster. Often blended with wool to add depth and a cosy yet sophisticated quality to custom commissions.
Cotton
Breathable, clean, and versatile. Used in decorative or patterned pieces for its vibrant colour retention and suitability as a structural backing or decorative ground.
Technique
All bespoke hospitality pieces are produced using our Superfine Hand Tuft method — a meticulous process in which highly skilled artisans hand-tuft each piece loop by loop, then apply advanced hand-carving and sculpting techniques to create depth, texture, and three-dimensional dimension. The result is a surface that is simultaneously visually striking and built to perform at the highest standards over five to eight years, even in high-traffic areas.
All rugs are produced in compliance with internationally recognised safety standards, including ISO certifications, ensuring fitness for professional hospitality and commercial environments.

Evaluation & Proposal
The Dinodo Lab team assesses the optimal material composition, pile depth, dimensions, and finishing to develop a tailored design proposal and indicative quote.
Proposal Approval
You receive, review, and approve the proposal. Revisions are welcomed at this stage before production commences.
Sample Development
An initial round of hand-produced samples is ordered. Lead time varies by technique. Samples are refined collaboratively until the result is exactly right.
Order Confirmation
Final sample approval triggers the order confirmation. Production drawings are developed and a confirmed delivery date is agreed.
Production
Each piece is hand-tufted, hand-carved, and sculpted by our artisans. Production lead time varies based on technique, complexity, and project scale.
