In Life-Prolonging Measures, Chun and Dominik Scharfer explore the essence of memento mori, crafting a vivid yet poignant portrayal. The piece features a skeletal figure adorned with an hourglass on its back, symbolizing the relentless passage of time in today's frenetic society. This figure acts as a steadfast reminder of mortality amidst the chaos of a competitive world.

The artists' deliberate choice to use an antique Boro tapestry underscores their commitment to fostering inter-generational and inter-cultural dialogue within a single work. By featuring a classic memento mori scene on the tapestry, they aim to ignite a profound visual discourse. The piece is intended as a deep exploration of the human experience, encapsulated within a singular, arresting image.
